The research goal was analyzing the relationship between urban open public space use and health from the perception of 30 mothers, using interviews and participant observation. It is used a referential frame where general views are reviewed on the use of the public space based on the necessities they satisfy. The results indicate that mothers use these spaces to promote health through stimulating child development simultaneously maintaining their own. Space is used mainly to promote psychological well-being rather than health in its physical term.
