Analisis iconologico de algunas esculturas de arte religioso del periodo colonial espanol de la ciudad de Popayan correspondientes por su estilo y significacion al barroco, que en la Nueva Granada comprendio los siglos XVI, XVII y principios del XVIII. Un acercamiento desde el arte hacia la vida, la pasion, la esencia afectiva, la voluntad, la fuerza, el movimiento, la agitacion, la actividad convulsiva, los juegos de luz y el impulso aereo del espiritu y de los pliegues de ropajes tallados, que construyen las formas de lo sensible y de lo erotico en un orden colonial que controlo la sexualidad y exalto la expresion del alma. Abstract An iconologic analysis of some religious art sculptures from the Spanish colonial period in the city of Popayan, with a baroque style and significance, covering the XVI, XVII and beginning of the XVIII centuries in the Nueva Granada (current Colombia). An approach through art to the life, passion, affection, willpower, strength, movement, agitation, convulsive activities and playing with the light and the flying impulse of the spirit, along the pleats of the carved clothing, that created sensitive and erotic shapes in a Spanish colonial order controlling sexuality and enhancing the expression of the soul.
