The purpose of this research is to analyze the acoustic behavior and the physical characteristics of the Colombian treble (tiple). With the objective to synthetize and emulate the sound using the waveguide synthesis developed by Julius Smith. It is important to obtain the parameters of the treble finding the relevant data of each string like linear density, frequency, mass and speed of sound. With this information recollected is feasible to make a parameterization of the delay line of each string and construct the waveguide equations. After this procedure it is necessary to code each equation using Matlab taking special attention to the losses of each string by the nut, and the bridge of the treble. To simulate the sound produced by the sounding board of the treble, was necessary make an impulse response measurement, later a code was programmed to filter the signal and clean it. Finally, make the convolution code. Afterwards a correlation analysis between the real sound and the synthesized one by the model proposed made to compare both signals. The result was an algorithm capable of emulating the sound of the twelve strings of a typical Colombian tiple being played into the air.
