Objective. To identify the palliative care needs in cancer patients: a systematic review. Materials and methods. Queries are sought in the Scient direct, Dialnet, Scielo, Ovid and Medes databases, delimiting articles without time limits. The search was performed in March 2020 using the search equation “Assessment of needs and palliative care and neoplasms, with searches in both Spanish and English. Results. A total of 2142 studies were found of which 2129 were excluded, for a total of 13 articles included for critical reading, at the end of the reading 5 studies were discarded, and finally the systematic review was carried out with 8 articles, where the populations had an average age between (79-83) years, the female sex being predominant with 64%, gastrointestinal cancer was obtained as the main diagnosis, pain being the most prevalent symptom, having the pathological history as the needs of the patients. administration of chemotherapy, analgesia and emotional support are the main requirements of the patient in order to provide them with a better quality of life. Conclusions. Evaluate the palliative care needs in cancer patients, finding that analgesia and emotional support are the main requirements of the patient.
