The present research work aims to establish the necessary considerations for the design and operation of wetlands for the treatment of secondary sludge, for the management of wastewater, in environmental conditions of the Bogota Savanna. For this purpose, the sludge production generated by the PTAR located in the facilities of the Nueva Granada campus was selected as a case study. To establish its applicability, the climatic conditions of the site were taken into account, as well as the construction and operational parameters. Besides, a proposal was made for the construction and operational procedure of the wetland for sludge treatment. This was constructed through the analysis of information compiled at the international level from publications in indexed and certified journals. This allows achieving a result applicable to the environmental conditions of the Bogota Savanna. Finally, this document concludes that this technology is applicable under local conditions, presenting economic and environmental benefits. It also provides recommendations for its operation and maintenance during the implementation and the operational begin.
