The objective of this research is to develop an operational information management system for humanitarian demining units in Colombia that contributes to the collection, storage, manipulation, and analysis of data provided to mine action entities and local authorities, which are aimed at land restitution processes, returns of the displaced population and economic development projects, in the areas prioritized and assigned to humanitarian demining organizations (ODH) at the national level. This will optimize the information management processes of the organizations operating in Colombia, improving planning, information security, and decision-making in demining operations. It will also reduce the difficulties encountered in the collection, security, handling, and sending of information. Through characterization of the systems currently used, the variables involved in the demining process will be identified since they will provide the data to develop the information system validated through a simulation. The proposed system will contribute to the information management and procedures of humanitarian demining organizations and communities affected by antipersonnel mines (APM), unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IED) in Colombia.
