Food and Nutrition Education is a field of action for Food and Nutrition Security and Health Promotion, and has been considered a strategy for the prevention and control of contemporary nutritional problems. Active methodologies are important instruments that assist in the performance of teaching / learning in food and nutrition education, and reinforce teaching in nutrition as a way of promoting the health of the population becoming effective. The application of recreational activities, has been showing an effective development in the knowledge about food and nutrition, in which they stimulate a better understanding of the subjects approached in a pleasant way. The objective of this article is to describe the experience of building a game as a facilitating tool in the realization of Food and Nutrition Education, with an approach through active learning methods, aimed at elderly diabetics. Currently, there is a growing increase in Diabetes Mellitus worldwide, the elderly public is more susceptible, due to several factors such as population aging and excessive use of medicines inappropriately. With this, the yoke may be a driver for promoting the acquisition of adequate and healthy eating habits, thus providing nutritional alternatives and recommendations for greater care for the elderly diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus.
