Análisis de los factores hidrológicos en relación con los eventos ocurridos en la cuenca alta del Río Chicamocha en Boyacá a través del uso de sistemas de información geográfica entre los años 2011-2019
Geographic information systems are widely used tools for study within the discipline of environmental engineering. The understanding of the territory takes on a new meaning for the analysis of the unique conditions of each research area. The simulation exercise with the help of the google collaboratory application of the upper basin of the Chicamocha River at its source and passage through different municipalities of the department of Boyaca is an important step for the approach of environmental models for the area. The upper basin of this river presented a great variation in its flow in the last decade, due to the influence of different factors that affected the basin directly, as in the case of pollution and deforestation. As well as others that affected it indirectly, as in the case of the El Nino phenomenon that was reflected in the precipitation. It is a mixture of circumstances that were reflected both globally and locally in the delimited study area that caused these changes. However, there are still bets to creativity applied to different models for the recovery of this river, from the regulation of its flow to the recovery of its water quality. For this reason, the environmental study takes on a new dimension within the possibilities of studying this basin.
