Objective: This article aims to characterize the urban transport of input cargo from the restaurant’s subsector in the city of Ibague, determining the loading and unloading operations carried out by the carriers. Methodology: It was inquired about the practices carried out in the restaurant’s subsector, to determine the dynamics and the problems that are generated from said operations. For the above, based on a convenience sampling, the administrators of the restaurants located within the strips with the highest traffic flow were surveyed according to the Ibague Ministry of Mobility, as well as some transporters that supply said establishments. Finding: Issues such as road congestion, fuel consumption, environmental pollution and traffic accidents are part of the problem that the development of logistics activities in the city brings with it. Conclusion: Based on the above, primary information was collected to make the diagnosis and characterize the urban distribution of goods in the subsector under study to, finally, present alternative solutions to the situations detected.
