Agricultural production represents significant consumption of water worldwide, which has recentlybeen affected by water crises. Aquaponia is in a consortium of vegetable production andaquatic animals. The studied production system does not demand the exchange of water duringthe productive cycle, only replacement of evaporated water. The objective was to analyzethe aquaponics as a system of production of little water use. This work was carried out throughliterature review involving aquaponics systems and case study of the aquaponics productionsystem of the “Organic Life” project, located on a 12-hectare property in Pompeu-MG, the sitehas restricted access to Water. The aquaponic system maintains its production with water lossof 10% a month and presents varied production of animals and vegetables. The aquaponicsshowed to be a system of production of low water consumption, showing to be viable for aquacultureand vegetal production.
