The objective of this research was to identify the meanings constructed by two organizations regarding the quality of working life and their relationship with development, orientation and implementation of organizational policies and welfare programs. For this, a qualitative methodology was used, with a strategy of narrative analysis, the instrumentality of a semi- structured interview. The selection of participants took into account that were heads or directors of the area of human talent, to assist in the process of human management, and belonged to the operational area of the Promevel companies Ltda. And Editorial Paulina s. For the application of the interview went to each company where an active conversation with each of the partners was held. This research sought to investigate by current contributions to the development of the quality of working life in Colombia. As a result it was found that the relationship between the quality of working life and human management practices developed in these companies is characterized by legal agreements with employees, and applicable labor standards. In the same way the relationship between the concept in these companies around the quality of working life and welfare policies developed by government entities where large differences in orientation and implementation are evident were investigated.
