In this text, what is sought is to establish what the meaning of freedom is in Rousseau’s philosophy. For this, we will focus on the Discourse on the Origin of Inequality (Second Discourse) and on The Social Contract; books from which it is possible to understand two meanings of freedom, which are framed in the natural environment (in the case of the Second Discourse) and in the social context (in the case of The Social Contract).
