RESUMENEl objetivo de esta revision documental es realizar un analisis teorico del concepto de turismo y desarrollo sustentable, haciendo enfasis en una de sus formas mas recientes conocida como desarrollo sustentable en el turismo, y mediante la identificacion de los principales conceptos expuestos por autores reconocidos. Se hizo una revision exhaustiva de la literatura correspondiente al tema en los ultimos 20 anos. El caracter de este trabajo es analitico interpretativo. Los resultados indican que el concepto de turismo en los ultimos anos ha tomado gran importancia debido a que esta siendo visto como una actividad economica generadora de riqueza.Palabras clave: Turismo, Desarrollo sustentable, Desarrollo Sustentable en el turismo. ABSTRACTThe objective of the review is an analysis of the concept of tourism and sustainable development, emphasizing one of its forms, more recently known as sustainable development in tourism, by identifying the main concepts exposed by authors. An exhaustive review of the literature corresponding to the subject was made in the last 20 years, where in its majority articles and books were reviewed online. Its character is analytical interpretive. The literature review shows how the concept of tourism, both and, in recent years, has taken on great importance because it is seen as an economic activity that generates wealth.Keywords: tourism, Sustainable development, Sustainable development in tourism
