Educational processes have incorporated ICT in the teaching of science generated environments of great contributions, not only to the teaching of scientific knowledge, but also to strengthen the multiple dimensions of critical thinking. Emerging the need, in different studies, of competent students in the management of these technologies. This is how this research aims to determine the contribution of metacognitive regulation to the learning of ICT competences, in fourth and fifth grade students of basic education through the application of a didactic unit on the management of ICT, promoting competencies in regarding the handling of information and technology. This is achieved through the intervention of metacognitive regulation, allowing the student to be aware before, during and after the ICT management.
