Why talk about romantic relationships as a teenager? Various authors have focused their research on this subject and have found that adolescence is the stage of major physical, cognitive, emotional and relational changes, where the development of identity is the key process and this same development leads to a marked interest in interpersonal relationships, whether friendship or romance. This article presents the product of the review of studies reported on the aspects that adolescents need to know as a protective factor against aggression in romantic relationships, such as the importance of context in the choice of partner, assertive and non-assertive flirting, violence in these relationships, its types and partner care. The analysis of the review is discussed in light of the needs for primary and secondary prevention in educational settings
