The Colombian armed conflict has been a latent problem in the development and construction of Colombia. The causes and consequences of the conflict are fluctuating, but always influenced by the political decisions of the actors within the State. The changes in the national situation have turned the conflict into different situations of confrontation between interests. Each of the different attempts by the government to reach a resolution to the conflict have left lessons learned that constitute the fundamental basis for governmental decisions in favor of peace.
