The present research aims at characterizing current bachelor’s theses in accredited PublicAccounting programs in Bogota as of 2020. Under this consideration, the modalities are identified andthose most used by the students who have successfully completed their bachelor’s thesis are determined. To do so, a qualitative methodology with and explanatory and descriptive scope was implemented, which implies both a documentary review of the topic and conducting semi-structured interviews with the teachers in charge of managing the bachelor’s thesis modalities in each program. The results show there are diverse alternatives of bachelor’s theses such as research, graduate program course, preparatory, among others. However, students’ choice depends on their interests, available time, cost, or complexity of the modalities. The relationship between bachelor’s theses and the achievement of training goals is proposed as future research.
