This article gives an account of the bibliography on the contribution of ethics of Humberto Maturana to systemic family therapy. The approach was qualitative, under a hermeneutical perspective, emphasizing a documentary strategy. The generation of information technique was the review of bibliography. the analysis sample corresponding to this, was about fifteen texts. Research shows that the ethics proposal in Maturana is based on accept others as legitimate others in coexistence, privileges the being over the doing, the excitement over the reason, cooperation over competition, and confidence over fear. It is concluded that the adoption of the proposed ethics of Maturana in systemic family therapy promotes horizontality in the therapeutic process and invites to a more accurate view of family.
