Abstract:

This research determined the effect of a mid-zone training program on the resistance strength levels of the lumbo-abdominal portion of cyclists of the junior category of the ACOFIS club of Tulua, for which it had an explanatory scope and pre- -experimental of pre-test-posttest without control group, starting from the problematic found in athletes due to their weakness in the muscles of the lumbar and abdominal area due to the low levels of strength resistance in this zone. Among the most important results is the improvement of the resistance strength of the lumbo-abdominal portion when performing the McGuill protocol, observing a longer duration of the test by comparing the initial results with the final results, with an average of 1 ', 41 , 75 ± 71.98, which concludes that the program of functional exercises for the middle zone presented significant effects on the strength of the lumbo-abdominal portion.
