Determinantes Sociales de la Salud (DSS ) y discapacidad en Barranquilla 2012: resultados desde el registro para la localización y caracterización de personas con discapacidad
Objective: establish the relationship between the Social Determinants of Health (Structural and Intermediate) and the components of Disability according to the International Classification of Operation (CIF) in the city of Barranquilla Colombia from the registry to locate and characterize the Disability of the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) 2005. Materials and Methods: A descriptive study was carried out with a correlational phase that highlight all the social determinants of health that best explain the situation of disability according to the components according to the CIF. The program was used SPSS statistic. Version 19 through database with 726 person records with disabilities from this city with location, housing, identification data personal, characterization and origin of disability, health, education and participation. Results: it was found that the average age was 38 years; most of the people did not have any educational level, were of mixed ethnicity and lived in the head, also belonged to strata 1 and 3, about 19% only received some monthly income. Other structural determinants made reference to the barriers in roads, streets and sanitary services, the cause of the disability was the general illness. Regarding the Intermediate Determinants, it was found that the Most of the population was affiliated with the Social Security System in Health (SGSS), especially as subsidized companies, and as regards the services of rehabilitation were diagnosed in a timely manner, few received rehabilitation of the latter only about 16% attended services due to accessibility difficulties in terms of physical barriers and economic conditions. In relation to the components of disability according to the ICF, the deficiencies in the structure, limitations in the activity, restrictions in the participation and contextual factors, where it was evidenced that 100% of the surveyed population had deficiencies, only 95.7% had limitations and the 4.3% did not state that they had limitations in the activity despite their deficiency, the 91.2% had restrictions on participation, hence the importance of characterizing each individual in terms of functioning in order to establish a plan of 12 Social determinants of health (DSS) and disability in Barranquilla, 2012: results from the registry to the location and characterization of people with disabilities treatment in terms of rehabilitation or habilitation. It was also found that The most prevalent deficiencies correspond to physical deficiencies (31.3%) with high levels of restriction at the family level.
