Therefore, this article will address the importance of food and nutrition in the prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases [CNCD, hereinafter], finding that these are one of the main causes of death worldwide according to the World Health Organization [WHO, hereinafter], in addition, the need to include In the basic PHC team, a professional who complements the multidisciplinary team and is in charge of mitigating the modifiable risk factors that trigger most of the mentioned pathologies, among these, include inadequate eating habits, sedentary lifestyle, consumption of little nutritious or toxic substances to a physiological level, such as tobacco, ultra-processed foods, among others.
