This paper analyzes the journalistic quality standards of the sports news broadcasts in Colombia, in the channels: ESPN2, Directv Sports and Win Sports, in order to identify their quality standards and journalistic added value. This study was carried out through the creation of two analysis matrices that made it possible to measure the three news programmes in an equitable way. The findings show that the three newscasts fail to meet quality standards, although they try to follow some journalistic parameters. It is concluded that it is necessary to adjust details to present quality information, maintain their original formats, distance research and contrast of sources, premium technical language and opinion on the information.
