The violent events that occur in rural regions in Mexico manifest a history of conflicts that can be related to the interference or inaction of the State, which has led to the fragmentation and destruction of the social fabric, and which in turn allow inter-community confrontations, propitiating chiefdoms or factional leaderships. This type of conflict can occur on the internal limits of a community or outside of it, depending on the scenarios and actors involved, as this study shows, which deals with the conflict that occurred in 2004 between two neighboring communities in the state of Tlaxcala, due to the installation of buffers on their territorial dividing line.
