Abstract:

Queer clothing: bodies that dress to break gender stereotypes is a research work that seeks to support the need to develop digital narratives with a queer gender perspective, especially in Colombian clothing brands. The relevance of this proposal is evidenced in the normalization and naturalization of gender stereotypes through clothing, this is viewed as an obstacle in the development of free identities since the latter is intermediated by the social behaviors and bodily attachments that we adopt and are accepted within our contexts. The normalization of gender stereotypes through clothing patterns is harmful and exclusive behavior. This is constantly reflected within the digital platforms of clothing brands; through the bodies and the ways of dressing them. Consequently, through a qualitative investigation and different testimonies from non-normative individuals, the need to create digital content that is diverse and allows people to get out of the molds of normality was ratified.
