Los programas de televisión como vehículo para la Comunicación Pública de la Ciencia y la Tecnología: El caso de la Ciudadela Universitaria Pedro Nel Gómez de Medellín
This monograph identifies the models of public communication of science and technology (or CPCT by its initials in spanish) that the Higher Education Institutions that are part of the Ciudadela Universitaria Pedro Nel Gomez of Medellin (Instituto Tecnologico Metropolitano, Institucion Universitaria Pascual Bravo e Institucion Universitaria Colegio Mayor de Antioquia) use in their television programs. For the construction of the models was taken what was proposed by some fairly representative contemporary theorists in the current debate was taken into account. In the methodology, a qualitative approach was used, and the techniques and instruments for gathering information to carry out this case study were two: bibliographic tracking and content analysis. The sample was obtained for television programs broadcast between 2014 and 2016. Is concluded that scientific and technological knowledge is presented in these television programs in accordance with a deficit communicative model that emphasizes the direction of the communicative process in only one direction, from experts to the public. In spite of this, it is also observed that these same television programs intend that citizens use that knowledge in their context and generate critical thinking with it. In other words, these programs also seek to promote processes of dialogue and participation in science and technology. As will be seen, this simultaneous use of deficit, dialogue and participation is consistent with the theoretical perspective assumed in this monograph
