Relación de los componentes de la Economía Social y Solidaria con la perdurabilidad de una asociación de productores rurales, caso : Asociación de Productores Agrícolas de Timaná – ASPROTIMANÁ
Rural associativity in Colombia has been promoted as a development strategy by different means, aiming to improve rural inhabitants’ life quality, however, many studies and statistics show that associativity in rural areas is not very usual proving that successful associativity processes are the exception, rather than the rule. Among this context, this research is about the organization of supportive and social economy of Asociacion de Productores Agricolas de Timana – ASPROTIMANA which is formed by small coffee growers, who have 18 years of experience and regional recognition due to their social, productive and commercial achievements. Proving their capacity to generate preferential services on the basis of initiative and management of the community which decided to associate to improve their life quality. In this sense, ASPROTIMANA’s trajectory was reconstructed through the proposal of its cycle of life, identification of the decisive elements of Social - Supportive Economy proposed by Garcia – Muller y Alvarez (2012) and the factors which contribute with ASPROTIMANA durability, highlighting its self-reliance during its cycle of life, the participative and democratic management, the continuous concern about associates and families’ well-being and the growing in the business environment.
