This text was written as an invitation to develop a lecture, as a part of a series of events around the works and an exhibition of models pertaining to John Hejduk’s work VICTIMS, by the Architecture Museum at the National University of Bogota. The lecture creates a temporary space in the years of existence of a program and methodology that existed within the school, during my permanence as a student. The then existing program was a fundamental creation of the ideas developed by a group of historians and intellectuals about modern education in architecture. A series of conditions and the same cultural context helped in the environment created around the tradition of the idea of COMUNNITAS, which was present in the original idea of the founding of the college and the notion of tradition in John Hejduk. The question about how to teach architecture is always present in the exercises, courses and general structure of the proposed method for discovering the fundaments of architecture. Particular interests of this bubble relate the acquisition of plastic language, mechanical and conceptual inherent to the discipline that were synthesized by the nine square grid problem as discovered and developed by each individual in the program. This conceptual tool will disappear in later years, but it has remained an interesting way of seeing and thinking about architecture.
