Non-economic valuations and participatory mapping of cultural ecosystem services (CES), which include perceptual studies of the value of the intangible services that ecosystems offer to communities, are fundamental tools that support territorial planning and ease decision making. The objective of this study was to evaluate the CES offered by the Distrito de Manejo Integrado Sistema de Paramo y Bosque Altoandino del Noroccidente Medio de Antioquia (DMI SPBANMA) applying participatory rapid diagnosis (PRD) methodologies. As a result, it was obtained a non-economic valuation, in which it was proven that the time factor is more important than the economic factor when people decide to make activities associated with the intangible services offered by nature. In the same way, a map was obtained with the 28 most representative places of the study area in which people receive benefits from ecosystems. It is expected that this study be used in the updating of the management of the protected area.
