This research was developed in order to establish intervention strategies aimed at closing gaps in Innovation Management in companies in the Caldas Fashion System sector, participants of the Pacts for Innovation program. The analysis of the study framed the characterization of the capacities in innovation in the companies object of analysis; the identification of gaps in innovation management; the determination of innovation indicators and the identification of benefits, drivers, barriers and impacts of the Pacts for Innovation strategy. This research with a mixed approach, of an explanatory type, was carried out based on the analysis of the primary information collected through workshops and visits to companies, in which a methodological instrument defined by Colciencias and the team of researchers for the Pacts for Innovation Strategy, based on the guidelines of the CTI Observatory and Colombian technical standards in CTI Management. The results of this research allowed a characterization of the innovation and management capabilities of both the interest groups and products and processes; From these, it is concluded that, the gaps with the greatest impact on innovation management are due to the lack of implementation of business strategies and the promotion of an organizational culture based on it. Efforts related to the development of strategies, structure and innovation management are isolated and do not have a formal budget. It is also concluded that despite the fact that entrepreneurs show the change in their innovative mentality, the impact at the business level is not reflected in a significant way. The results aimed at the social appropriation of knowledge included the dissemination of the results both in the CCMPC and in the sectorial table of competitiveness of the Fashion System of Caldas and a presentation in the IV day of Design Research conducted by the Universidad Autonoma de Manizales.
