A study integrating resistivity and hydrogeologic methods was made of the Uraba Coastal Complex deposits in the northern part of banana region near Turbo, Antioquia, in order to search for fresh water aquifers. The nature of the depth-profile curves, obtained by geoelectrical prospection determined five resistivity zones, each of which is restricted to a specific hydrogeological environment. The best zone is formed by sands and gravels interbedded between clays and silts (15-20 ohm-m), and the worse is a shallow aquifer contaminated with salt-water (1.5 - 5 ohm-m).
