The purpose of this research was to analyze the implementation of public policies that prevent and address sexual and physical violence against women in the Municipality of San Jose del Guaviare, based on a theoretical, conceptual and methodological analysis of public policies and its relationship with conceptual categories such as violence, gender and feminism; Identifying in this context, how these public policies have lacked effective implementation tools that allow them to meet the objectives set in the short and medium term. Subscribed to the foregoing, this work seeks to generate primary conclusions and recommendations regarding the results of the implementation of this type of public policy in an area of ​​the country marked by the absence of the State and the presence of the armed conflict; In this sense, it is necessary to generate, within the framework of the construction and implementation of public policies, an approach that includes more of the actors on the ground, since they are the ones who will have to operationalize and guarantee their success or failure. To achieve the objectives of this research, qualitative methods were prioritized, in order to give participation to the actors based on their testimonies, expectations and experiences, in order that their voices are the ones that allow the reader to approach this element of the Colombian social reality.
