Eating Disorders (TCA) are a group of mental disorders characterized by altered eating behavior. Due to the multifactorial etiology of such behavior, it is found that social networks, as a social factor, can have a significant influence on it. The objective of this research was precisely to determine the scope of social networks on the influence on food behavior and self-evaluation of Colombian youth. A qualitative research was conducted in which a semi-structured interview was applied to 4 participants; the interview conclusions seem to suggest that there is a relationship between social networks and food behavior, since as the participants said it was found that the content displayed in these media have influenced their eating behaviour. The participants claim that the content they find there about women and men with a thin figure and bodies that conform to the stereotypes of beauty that prevail in society, makes them question their physical appearance, leading them to consider the possibility of acquiring a modification in their eating habits in order to obtain similar results to those found in the models that abound in these media. Definitely, social networks are a risk factor in young colombians eating behavior.
