Reverse logistics is a rather generic term, in its broadest sense means all operations related to the reuse of products and materials. It is a new area of business logistics that acts in order to manage and operationalize the return of goods and materials after their sale and consumption. Due to tougher environmental legislation and increased consumer awareness, companies are not only using more recycled materials but also having to worry about eco-friendly disposal. With this all companies have made reverse logistics a great strategy in their business planning. The work comes to show opportunities in cost reduction and highlight some basic concepts about reverse logistics.
