La dinamica turistica ha estado orientada a traves de una politica publica, que periodo a periodo de gobierno se fortalece, pretendiendo alcanzar un turismo en el marco de la sostenibilidad y que debe ser apropiada en todo su territorio. Con el proposito de analizar el escenario de desarrollo desde la politica turistica y la actitud proambiental de la comunidad de Ibague, se realizo un analisis de los planes de desarrollo, del plan sectorial y estrategico del turismo, y por otro lado se analizo la consciencia ambiental de la comunidad a traves de una muestra de 384 ciudadanos sobre la Escala NEP-R, instrumento para objetivizar creencias de una comunidad frente a la naturaleza. Los resultados obtenidos reflejan una comunidad ecocentrista y con consciencia de limite de los recursos naturales y por otro lado, que el Estado como actor del desarrollo turistico ha progresado con su politica publica pero que aun, no se logra un nivel importante de sostenibilidad y desarrollo. EnglishColombia is advancing towards the development of its economy and tourism is a global wager that generates significant income. The tourism dynamic has been oriented through a public policy that period to period of government is strengthened, this allows to achieve a tourism in the framework of sustainability and that it should be appropriate throughout its territory. With the purpose of analyzing the scenario of development from the tourist policy and the pro-environmental attitude of the community of Ibague, an analysis of the development, sectoral and strategic tourism plans was made. And on the other hand, the environmental awareness of the community was analyzed through a sample of 384 citizens on the NEP-R scale. The NEP-R scale is an instrument to objectify beliefs of a community against the nature. The results obtained reflect an ecocentric community that are aware of the limits of natural resources. And that the State as an actor of tourism development has progressed with its public policy but it does not achieve an important level of sustainability and development.
