In recent years, the municipality of Rionegro has presented several changes derived from accelerated growth in terms of different factors that have strongly influenced the situation, dynamics and daily context experienced by the population of this municipality and the large number of people from municipalities nearby that perform various activities frequently in this municipality. The rapid urban and population growth has resulted in the creation of new needs for the municipality of Rionegro, especially in terms of mobility. The origin of this research is based on one of the most important projects proposed by the municipal administration of Rionegro to solve the mobility problem that is evident in the territory. This project consists of the construction of a mass transit system of light rail type, with this project the municipal administration seeks to provide a mobility solution for the municipality of Rionegro focused on the long term. However, the socialization actions of the project by the municipal administration with the different stakeholders that could have some kind of impact derived from the implementation of this project, have not been adequate. For this reason, there is a widespread lack of knowledge about the structuring of this project in a large part of the population of this municipality. Taking into account the above, it is relevant to inquire about the perception or possible positions that different stakeholders have about this initiative to build a mass transport system in the municipality of Rionegro, in order to determine the perception of the population about this project, considering that, as much the population of this municipality, as of neighboring municipalities that visit Rionegro frequently, will be those directly impacted, positively or negatively, with the implementation of this transport project.
