This article presents a historical approach to Las Palmas rural district within the municipality of San Jacinto in Bolivar province. The paper’s objective is to address three historical moments: the first refers to the district settlers’ life style before 1985; the second evidences a rupture in the history of this population due to the Colombian armed conflict actions. The third outlines the way the district’s inhabitants have handled their return to their land, thanks to institutional support. The Inclusive Solidarity Businesses strategy was carried out by the Special Administrative Unit of Solidarity Organizations during 2015. For the methodology, the research collected information from newspapers (related to the region’s historical moments) and primary information from interviews to Las Palmas community. Also, a tour to the territory and the systematization of the Solidarity Inclusive Business strategy were made. The results obtained led to the understanding the relevance of the periods mentioned, their meaning for the inhabitants’ minds and the economic, social and cultural impact on the community.
