Dentro de la Auditoria de Gestion de Mantenimiento (AGM), existen distintos metodos a traves de los cuales pueden identificarse los problemas en esta area y proponer soluciones viables a los mismos. De alli, que el presente estudio tuvo como proposito efectuar una revision documental acerca de las publicaciones academicas y cientificas generadas en torno al tema de la Auditoria de Gestion de Mantenimiento (AGM), asi como la naturaleza de los indicadores prevalecientes en los estudios. La metodologia empleada fue de indole documental-descriptiva con un diseno de investigacion bibliografico sustentado en la revision y analisis de fuentes documentales primarias y secundarias ubicadas principalmente en bases de datos y repositorios electronicas. Como resultado, se encontro que la AGM utiliza principalmente dos procedimientos de aceptacion/aplicacion: el Metodo Americano (Radar de Mantenimiento) y el Metodo Ingles (Cuestionario). Se concluyo que, tanto el Metodo Americano, como el Metodo Ingles son validos y confiables para alcanzar resultados precisos sobre el estado real de todos los indicadores que conforman la Gestion de Mantenimiento empresarial; existe consenso sobre la necesidad de que el metodo a aplicar abarque tanto la naturaleza cuantitativa/objetiva de los indicadores de mantenimiento, como el componente cualitativo/subjetivo, en vista de que los auditores tienden a expresar los resultados de forma cuantitativa, soslayando el factor humano. Formal methods used in maintenance management auditing Abstract Within the Maintenance Management Audit (MMA), there are different methods through which problems in this area can be identified and viable solutions proposed. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to carry out a documentary review of the academic and scientific publications generated about Maintenance Management Auditing (MMA), as well as the nature of the prevailing indicators in the studies. The methodology used was of a documentary-descriptive nature with a bibliographic research design based on the review and analysis of primary and secondary documentary sources located mainly in databases and electronic repositories. As a result, it was found that the AGM mainly uses two acceptance/application procedures: the American Method (Maintenance Radar) and the English Method (Questionnaire). It was concluded that both the American Method and the English Method are valid and reliable to achieve accurate results on the actual status of all the indicators that make up the company's Maintenance Management; there is a consensus on the need for the method to be applied to cover both the quantitative/objective nature of the maintenance indicators, and the qualitative/subjective component, since auditors tend to express the results in a quantitative way, bypassing the human factor.
