The importance that environmental sustainability currently has in the world and the need to formulate and execute environmentally responsible projects was the motivation for the realization of this project. In this project, the environmental management of large-scale projects in Colombia was analyzed using a very robust methodology such as the P5® standard, in order to identify which aspects should be worked on and improved in said projects with a vision of sustainability. This research evaluated a sample of projects related to hydrocarbon exploration, which are large-scale projects; The analysis sought to determine which aspects are considered in the evaluation of the environmental impacts of the P5® standard in its environmental category, versus the aspects that are traditionally taken into account in the environmental impact studies of said projects. For this, the reports of the contractors that processed the environmental licenses and that were approved for the execution of the projects of the analyzed sample were collected; Each of the variables stipulated in the P5® standard in the Planet category were validated, which are Transport, Energy, Land, Air and Water and Consumption. The research found that of these categories in which there is the greatest opportunity for improvement is in relation to the use of renewable energy, its generation, as well as the implementation of digital communication plans.
