“Comunicology” is a very important scientific discipline, because of the decisive influence of mass media in contemporary life. But there are problems for composing its own thematical space, and for defining its theoretical object. We may advertise this in the confessional relations with another sciences (linguistics, antropology, sociology, and so on). One of the factors that make influence, is the student’s way of thinking: their expectatives are massmediatics ones, no academical ones. It results evident in Comunicology Congresses. Also the indefinition about limits of the discipline, has taken in Latin America to a total identification between Comunicology and cultural studies. The impossibility for thinking the exact place of those studies for Communicology, shows the problems for this discipline´s constitution.
