The Bried Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, written by Junot Diaz, is a novel characterized by treating the diaspora and the search for cultural identity through a narration in Spanglish. This has aroused the interest of researchers to understand the novel and its weight in different disciplines, such as, literary, cultural, and sociological studies. However, considering that this type of analysis is usually done from a unique perspective, this research posed the challenge of analyzing it from an interdisciplinary perspective. Thus, the fusion of different factors that make the Junot Diaz phenomena a disruptive one of the fields involved in its creation and publication. With this said, the following investigation report aims to understand the context of production and subsequent publication, which involves the novel The Bried Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao from a perspective that fuses the editorial and linguistic fields. To achieve this, the main elements of each field that are involved in the creation of the novel are described. Among these, the context of the author, the linguistic context of the novel and the editorial context are examined. The idea of identifying the relationship between the factors that make up the novel leads to understanding it as a disruptive case of the apparent border of the fields. The disruption is synthesized in the novel as Spanglish as it’s a transversal phenomenon that is permeated by the different fields, it is then concluded, that what begins as a counter-power gesture, ends as a sales tactic.
