Una revisión sobre las potencialidades y la contribución a la Bioprospección del aceite de dos palmas nativas de Colombia: Euterpe oleracea y Oenocarpus bataua.
Results of investigations carried out in South America report that the species of the palms Oenocarpus bataua and Euterpe oleracea produce oils with a composition equivalent to olive oil (Olea europaea). For example, the oleic, linoleic and linolenic fatty acids known as Omega 9, 6 and 3 respectively, are present and suitable for human consumption and for use in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. However, there are few works aimed at achieving the use of the results of research in Bioprospecting, which contributes to the development of the agroindustry of these species. The notable compounds show slight variations in terms of their specific chemical composition of the area of origin and the method used for extraction, this fact generates the need for information from specific growth niches of the species, as well as the definition of low indices. Colombia's technical standards with a view to being included in the Bioprospecting programs in the country for the species O. bataua and E. oleracea. Clearly, the problem is the lack of an interface between potentiality and application of the compounds found, so it is necessary to approach an exhaustive and guiding knowledge of research, such as knowing the physicochemical properties of O. bataua palm oil. and E. oleracea, which specified the development of cosmetic products within the framework of Colombian regulations and bioprospecting.Key words: agroindustry, cosmetics industry, potential of the palms, physicochemical properties.
