Classroom practices, within the framework of a quality education, should promote, in students, the conceptual construction and strengthening of cognitive and social skills. In this paper, the results of a quantitative, cross sectional and descriptive research were presented, that was aimed at describing classroom practices of 56 randomly selected teachers in an educational institution in the city of Medellin, who answered a self-administered self-report questionnaire of classroom practices that included: Planning, Learning Environment, Learning Culture and Pedagogical Practice. The data were descriptively analyzed using frequencies and percentages. An additive index was calculated with the responses, analyzed with averages and standard deviation. Among the results, it stands out that teachers consider that they carry out activities that correspond to good classroom practices. It is recommended that students be included in future research as main actors and direct beneficiaries of good classroom practices.
