The present work aims to give an account of some of the speeches that have emerged around the feminine from the first participation of the women from Barranquilla in the 1957 plebiscite, which would legitimize them as citizens and new political subjects in the country; with the intention to make visible and reflect on the experiences of the women from Barranquilla in the struggle for civil and political rights in Colombia, and consider some historical approaches to the practices that took place in the city, with reference to the conquest of the vote of the women in the first half of the 20th century.
