The purpose of these paper to study the economic growth from department of Valle del Cauca (Colombia) in the 1960-2010 period. A temporarily unified aggregate database is consolidated. Both the analysis of the information under the statistical context and its contrast at the light of the Harrod-Domar´s model suggest that the fundamental factor in explaining the phenomenon during the period of study instead of being the accumulation of physical capital, it is that both this and the savings impact in terms of productivity.
