The implementation of a management model for road infrastructure projects, applicable in the city of Bogota, which is focused on adequate planning and execution of projects and allows an appropriate synchronization of the contracting party and the executing party, is a challenge for the state managers and managers of the construction companies, since it implies important changes, both in the contractual form of the projects, and in the integration and knowledge of the managerial competencies of the parties. The main objective of this research was the creation of a management model for road infrastructure projects, based on international standards, based on the characteristics and components of road project management, existing in the city of Bogota. For the development of the research, a mixed methodological design was applied and a survey was used as an instrument that was directed to the professionals and executing managers of these projects. With the above, the current status and management components used in road projects in the city were established, as well as the knowledge and experience of road infrastructure project managers. In the final phase, an interview with experts was implemented, which validated the proposed model. The results showed the relevance of the model, in its possible application by the construction companies, but at the same time it posed important challenges, about improving the management level of the institutional entity and greater coordination with the executing entities.
