Objective: To evaluate the impact of the treatment in the quality of life from children and adolescents with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) with a scale known internationally. Methods: PQ-LES-Q was applied in 30 outpatient children from a Psychiatric Hospital in Bogota in two moments, the first evaluation considered for the investigator was the baseline and the second was after two month in the different treatments indicated for the clinician. Results: The average of age was 10,5 years and the PQ-LES-Q average in baseline was 57,3. There is no statistic correlation between age and quality of life. 80% were boys and 20 % girls. Statistic differences were present when the children had more than a year of diagnostic of ADHD in the baseline and the delta of change (1-6 months: 59,75, 7-12 months: 49, more than 1 year:58,45) Because of this results, the impact of the different treatments were calculated only for the patients with ADHD more than a year (n:22). There was a statistic difference with psychology therapy with better results for the children without that therapy. The treatment with methylphenidate was it improves more than other the quality of life. Conclusion: It is recommendable to determine the importance of the time of diagnostic of ADHD to the quality of life. Even when the results of the study supports that the delta of change is better when there is no psychology therapy, clinically and the internationally literature there is no back up for this findings. Likely this study results it is recommendable to maintain the methylphenidate in Colombian children with ADHD.
