The paper tries to establish whether or not evidence of spatial dependence in poverty measures in the municipalities of Valle del Cauca based on unsatisfied basic needs indicator. To Verify this the Moran Statiscs I is calculated. The methodology allows to observe the formation of clusters of poverty, but also reveals a process of widespread poverty. The results indicate that NBI indicator of municipalities for 2010 presents spatial dependence, showing that the geographic location is important as a determinant of poverty in the department. In other words, the poverty of a district is also determined by the poverty of their neighbors.
