The present document is a synthesis from the report carried out by the author about a descriptive investigation of the language and the communication that she carries out in patients hospitalized in the unit of mental health of the Hospital Militar Central and the Clinica Psiquiatrica Santo Tomas. This investigation permitted to offer a first clinical evidence of the therapeutic phonoaudiological management in the Colombian population with mental disorders, for the purpose of expanding the field of action with other professionals in the area of the health, as well as to stand out the relevance of the Phonoaudiology in this relevant population.
