La deserción estudiantil en las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES): el caso del Programa de Psicología de la Vicerrectoría Tolima y Magdalena Medio-Uniminuto.
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the circumstances that lead students enrolled in academic programs of Higher Education Institutions (IES) to be absent and drop out, taking as a starting point the case of the students of the Psychology program of the Vicerectory Tolima and Magdalena Medio of the Minuto de Dios-Uniminuto University Corporation. Analyzing the variables that respond to this student phenomenon and in turn, the non-completion of their academic program; in order to identify the factors that are predictive of student absenteeism and dropout. It is important to mention that dropout is a phenomenon that is linked to work, personal and student life, influencing the abandonment of their studies, be it at the beginning, middle or end of their studies, on the one hand endogenous factors such as economic, unemployment, lack of time, mental and physical fatigue and exogenous factors such as tuition costs, family support, debts are factors that the students under study present and which are intended to be discussed as findings.
