This document presents the results of the work Characterization of Workers in Popular Economy Sectors of the upz Corabastos, research that observes the experience of these workers from a historical, socioeconomical and relational dimensions in a context distinguished by a high flow of workers who use the street and live in precarious conditions, in a place characterized by citizen insecurity and high levels of social and spatial exclusion. For this purpose, the article stablishes a historical narrative of the settlement of the neighborhoods and the street use as a work activities space. Also, it determines the principal physical and socio-demographic characteristics of the territory, the general of the activities taken as reference: cycle taxi, street vendors and waste pickers; as well as the conditions of the institutional processes that look for formalizing these activities and the conflicts that arise from this formalization.
